Marcus Smart Girlfriend – Who Is Maisa Hallum?

She Is A California Girl

Meet the fabulous Maisa Nasser Hallum. She was born on June 1, 1991, to Nasser Hallum and Fatoum Alwareeth, and she has a sister Naseme Hallum.

Maisa’s mom is from Yemen, while her dad, Nasser, traveled from Libya to settle in the land of the free – talk about an international family. They’ve also been in the food industry for ages, running a successful pizzeria in Richmond for 13 years before taking over Alwareeth’s family grocery store.

Maisa’s parents also dabbled in Mexican and Middle Eastern cuisine before settling down in Brentwood to reopen Prego Pizzeria in 2012, with her father, Nasser, being the head honcho in the kitchen.

She and her sister Naseme started their own brand marketing management firm at Chapman Automotive Group. And Naseme is a master’s degree holder from Boston University. She’s also a proud mama of two and loves spending time with Maisa, cheering from the basketball courtside.

Making Wave In The Fashion Design World

Who says you can’t make waves in the world of swimwear? In April 2020, Maisa appeared an interview with Blueprint Concepts’ “Women Making Waves” series, where she was introduced as the Sousa Swim company’s founder and creative director.

While Sousa Swim’s Instagram page may have disappeared into the abyss, you can still catch a glimpse of the brand’s logo on Hallum’s Facebook cover photo.

She Is a Dedicated Philanthropist

Hallum and Smart might keep their relationship low-key, but that doesn’t mean we can’t catch a glimpse of their love in action. In fact, the duo has been dating since at least December 2017, when they were first spotted together at an event hosted by Smart’s charitable foundation, YounGameChangers.

The foundation’s Facebook page was buzzing with hundreds of photos from the event, including some adorable shots of Smart and Hallum posing with their arms around each other. Hallum is not only a supportive partner but also a dedicated philanthropist who shares Smart’s passion for giving back to the community as she’s been seen at several other events, including his annual Bowling Bash.

She Is Marcus’ Number One Cheerleader

Maisa isn’t just a supportive partner when it comes to charity work – she’s also Marcus Smart’s number-one cheerleader on the court! When the Celtics were in the Bubble during their 2020 playoff run, Maisa surprised her then-boyfriend with an epic video message that had him grinning from ear to ear.

The video was full of encouragement for Smart, who she described as the “ultimate competitor.” And we have to say, we couldn’t agree more! Maisa went on to explain how Smart’s unwavering dedication to the game and his “play like it’s your last game” attitude inspires others to give it their all, too.

When Smart finally saw the video, he was over the moon! He couldn’t stop smiling and called it “awesome.” It’s clear that Maisa’s unwavering support and infectious energy are just what he needs to keep crushing it on the court.

Heart and Hoops: The Love Story of Marcus Smart and Maisa Hallum

They Started Dating In 2018

The Boston Herald even caught wind of their romance when they photographed Hallum at Smart’s Bowling Bash in 2018, officially labeling her as his girlfriend.

And just when we thought they couldn’t get any cuter, Hallum was spotted handing out candy to kids at the Boston Children’s Hospital on Halloween in 2018 as part of the Celtics Women’s Group.

It’s heartwarming to see that Hallum and Smart are both a great match and committed to giving back to their community.

Will Smith Assists in Epic Engagement

Boston Celtics’ star Marcus Smart left fans on the edge of their seats when he took to Twitter to post cryptic messages, teasing some life-altering news. Smart’s followers were relieved when the defensive player of the year revealed his big news: he’s engaged to his girlfriend, Maisa.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Smart shared the sweet details of his holiday proposal. He even enlisted the help of actor Will Smith, who appeared in a pre-taped clip and told Hallum that she wouldn’t be leaving Christmas empty-handed. As she watched the video on TV, Smart got down on one knee and popped the question.

Hallum was so overwhelmed that she didn’t even say anything at first, but she eventually nodded with a smile and said, “Yes!”

The Celtics star shared with reporters that Smith is one of her favorite actors, but let’s be real, who doesn’t love the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? Smart admitted that the ’90s sitcom was a staple for him too, and probably for most of us who grew up during that era.
