Top 10 Best NBA Jerseys

Michael Jordan's Jersey

We’ve seen so many different NBA jerseys over the years, but there have been a few of them that have completely stood out above the rest. Here we are going to be talking about some of the best NBA jerseys of all-time and ranking them by which are the best jerseys in our personal opinion.

10. Philadelphia 76ers, 1997-2009

The Dazzle jersey that the Philadelphia 76ers were wearing through the Allen Iverson era had to make it onto this list. The Sixers logo was much different back then from what we might be used to seeing nowadays, which helps it stand out. Maybe another reason that this jersey is so iconic is because it was worn when Iverson stepped over Tyronn Lue in the NBA Finals. The red and gold trim on the outside really just bring this entire look together.

9. Seattle Supersonics, 1985-1995

It might not have been around for that long, but the Seattle Supersonics green and yellow really stands out. It definitely should be considered one of the coolest NBA jerseys that we’ve ever seen. The players wearing them make them even more iconic, with legendary players like Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp flashing them throughout a handful of highlight plays. This color scheme in particular is something that’s never really been done before, and with the franchise being completely changed over, we didn’t get to see it often. Green and yellow is a pleasant change considering the colors that we usually see from other NBA teams, and it’s one of the most unique jerseys of all-time.

8. Boston Celtics, 1972-2014

The Boston Celtics old jerseys were an absolute classic, not just because of the players that wore them, but also due to their simplicity. The Celtics throughout this stretch of time used a simple green and white colored jersey that had the word Celtics on the front of it with a solid number right below it. Nowadays, the front of the jersey has switched back to Boston on the front, but the old Celtics name on the front with the old green and white colors just stands out more than the rest.

7. Orlando Magic, 1994-1998

The Orlando Magic sadly didn’t keep their electric blue jerseys around for very long, lasting just a handful of years before they swapped out of the rotation. However, these blue and white striped jerseys remain a classic. This was one of their very first alternate jerseys at the time, and it was really made cool by the ferocity that Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway had on the court when they were wearing them. It’s honestly shocking to think about why the organization opted to move away from these pinstripes so quickly considering their look.

6. Charlotte Hornets, 1989-1996

Coming in at number six is the teal pinstripes jersey that we got to see the Charlotte Hornets flex for a few years. Similar to the Magic, the Hornets only stuck with these pinstripes for a few years before taking them away.  Not before we got to get sold on how amazing these jerseys really were back then. Some of the best players in the Hornets franchise history wore these duds, including Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues, Alonzo Mourning, and Dell Curry just to name a few of them.

5. Chicago Bulls, 1985-Present

One might wonder whether or not it’s the nostalgia or the greatness that comes along with the Chicago Bulls red jersey. That doesn’t matter at the end of the day though, because this is one of the best jerseys of all time. The red jersey with the black lettering was made fashionable by Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman when they went on to win six championships. These players were so dominant and so heavily watched that these jerseys will forever be remembered by the majority of NBA fans across the world. It’s also the jersey that was worn when Jordan hit the walk off game winner against the Utah Jazz in the NBA Finals. It should be considered one of the best basketball jerseys ever on its history alone.

4. Phoenix Suns, 1993-2001

The Phoenix Suns revealed their 90s black jerseys during the Charles Barkley and Jason Kidd era of basketball, and it was a huge hit. These sunburst type uniforms were beautiful at the time and really separated themselves from a Halloween type of look that is easy to fall into considering that their color scheme is black and orange. Having the streaking suns basketball logo fly across the middle of the jersey really just ties it all together and makes it visually pleasing to look at.

3. Denver Nuggets, 1985-1993

There might be mixed opinions on these Rainbow Skyline jerseys, but they were a beautiful addition to the Nuggets rotation. They were introduced at a time when the roster was considered one of the fastest in the league, and when they wore those rainbow-colored skyline uniforms, they were a sight to watch on the court. We also got to see a number of great players don these jerseys such as Alex English and Fat Lever.

2. Los Angeles Lakers, 1978-1999

How could we forget or ignore these classic Los Angeles Lakers jerseys. These jerseys were literally nicknamed Showtime Gold. They were nicknamed this thanks to the players and the style of play in Los Angeles at this time, which was often called showtime. We saw Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and many others wear these uniforms throughout their run. The purple and gold lettering and color scheme is something that will always be remembered in league history.

1. Miami Heat, 2017-Present

Personally, I think this is one of the coolest NBA jerseys of all-time. The Miami Heat Vice collection jersey is a standout amongst the rest. It’s one of those jerseys that many people feel just embodies the Miami culture.  The color scheme, the font, everything about it just looks visually pleasing to look at. The black, pink, white, and blue color scheme is different and unique compared to other alternate jerseys that we’ve seen from other NBA teams. There’s no question that this should be considered one of the best jerseys that we’ve ever seen.
